Description
BIG FISH Walker Biped ExAqua Exploratory Copper Machine Vehicle All Wood Replica StatueYou can buy it at <[link]
What do the intelligent creatures (ahem... people, even if they are actually fish) of the sea do when they want to explore terra firma? Use their latest Bipdelal ExAqua Walkers of course! These self contained aquariums on legs will be popping out of Earth's oceans by the millions over the next couple of years!
These very sturdy walkers (hey, how do those land animals balance anyway!) are made with powerful mechanical legs with a foot and ankle system that has MANY joints as well as overall a broad stance. A "fish eye" domed front view port allows for a wide angle of visual exploration (through which can be seen a few of the controls including those for the feet as well as the fish pilot if you look VERY carefully). A top hatch allows for entry and exit (under water). A small fish tail rudder, is, well, normal, is it not?
Two small nostrils above the dome allow for the intake of dry air to be mixed with the internal watery environment. The poweful, jaw like hand grabber below has a very long arm, along with six fingers and two thunbs (why on Earth would you need ten digits between two hands? Humans...). Connected to this is a strong spot light. Sensors abound inside this marvel of ichthylogical machinery made from spun copper, a supmarine (above water) vehicle taller than a man and ready for action!
The head of the wood pilot inside IS a bit hard to see but IS in there and CAN be seen! It's pretty big at about 5" high by 6" long by 3 1/2" wide (2 1/2 centimeters to an inch)!
Made almost 100% from wood (sometimes with tiny amounts of other things) I paint and / or finish these with dark undertones and shading to highlight the details and then use layers of metallic and / or other coloring and finishes, making sure a lot of details shine through, often even the wood grain despite high tech themes. They maintain an often retro, sometimes even rustic look and feel to them, like an "olde worlde" toy or something (some more so than others).

Nice. I love the idea of a fish equivalent of our ROVER submersible. Only, this would be a surfisable I suppose.
