Crona is an IT. He is not a girl, he is not a boy. He has no gender. The writers of Soul Eater said so themselves. In the anime, he's referred to as a boy, and in the manga, he's referred to as a girl, but thats only because it would be weird to call him an it. But he is in fact genderless.

yes, crona's gender was very confusing before i started watching considering his hair is pink and the style is cut like I had mine once. the clothes he wears really take the cake. FUNimation's full of cross-dressers:

haha, its very true that they pick up a lot of series that give some sort of nudge to cross-dressing! But in that sense, it can be said that a lot of anime and manga allude to cross-dressing as a common thing! xD It may be that they recognize it as appealing to the anime fan-base, but it could also have to do with the fact that Japan is generally a lot more accepting of cross-dressing than America, for instance. xD
lol pff... I've never really been able to figure out why Himaruya-sensei decided to make Poland a cross-dresser... orz

i watched one episode where poland's talkin to france and iggy and he said he was thinking about painting his house pink, a week later, i found a piece of fanart where poland is trying to decide what shade of pink XD
