Description
Watercolor painting for a client, sold, framed and hanging in their house. Nice place to sit on a summer day! For those in other countries, we call the chairs "adirondack chairs."Related content

i really like that, nice colours and perspective. 2 things i'd change if i could: 1.a bit more dark green tones (is there a plural of "tone"??) in the foreground to create more three-dimensionality. 2. the right chair leg seems to be to long, and it looks like it's placed on the picture like a sticker > the plant looks like it's behind the leg, instead of beeing in front.

Gotcha, I see it now. Checked the reference photo and the leg length is correct, but I think it "pops" a bit too much off the background, and yes, the plant should cover it a bit. I actually considered this 95 per cent done, and I intended to darken a few areas a bit more, but I had to frame it and sell it! So I can't correct the original. However, I could tweak a digital version he he thanks for honest critique...

Thanks Aamb! It was a special commission for a client who wanted a painting with a lake view. Challenging to paint red in a shadow...

Sounds good! It's a shame you can't post edible art here.

How about a still life painting of a bowl of guacamole?

Let's see, mash up an avocado with a fork, and add, to taste, a little salt, lemon and/or lime juice, (I like lots of lemon juice, like a tablespoon per avocado,)and a teaspoon of olive oil. Now, if you have a blender or processor, or a sharp knife, chop finely a clove of garlic, maybe half a medium yellow onion, one or two tomatillos (best finally chopped in processor,) and as many peppers as you can handle (serranno, jalapeno, mild, anaheim.) Coarsely chop red bell peppers. Finally, add some finely chopped fresh cilantro (tablespoon?) and some fine or coarsely chopped fresh tomatoes. Enjoy on burritos, with blue or yellow corn chips, or eat as a salad. Heh, architecture, guacamole, WHATEVER. Very healthy by the way.

Thank you for sharing this recipe, I've been eating your guacamole all day now and it's to die for. Even my brother who usually doesn't like to try new food loves it, which is rare and makes you a guacamole-genius. THANKS!
