I usually used a lot of varying blues, from greenish to purple and some cyan here and there. It really did give me a lot of trouble because as I worked to smooth out the colors, I lost a lot of contrast, so I had to keep fiddling with it. I managed to pull it off somehow, but it wasn't easy. xD

Aah, I see~ I always get that trouble when working with acrylics but with fewer shades, even three shades of a single color can be a challenge.

I do a lot of black and white, so with pencil drawings where you don't have color, an eye for contrast is important so I can easily pick up points of weakness in my own work. Understanding that having opposites near each other can make something pop is an important aspect to consider when shading/coloring.

Sure, if you call stretches practice. xD My speedpaints are practice/warm-up, my actual pencil art is practice, I guess? Hell if I know. I just draw every day and call it that.
