FANART COMPETITION


This is a quick oil painting that I have done tonight and is based on Yoji Shinkawa's master piece. It has literally taken me an hour, so I guess it is a speed painting.

I have also entered this in the @Konamiuk #mgsfan competition on twitter. The piece can be seen on pinterest.com/konamiuk/mg-25th-anniversary-fan-comp

This piece was picked as a runner up prize for Konami UK and I did receive a prize and still had 13 other Metal Gear Solid fanart pieces shown on Konami's pinterest board!

This piece received the highest amount of favourites and even a comment on the Konami Pinterest board (5 favourites & 1 comment) None came close but I still failed to win!

On the positive side I made a few new friends who were equally skilled in the competition who also got runners up prizes and to you I salute

I'm very proud to have got a runner's up!

I have no idea how Yoji Shinkawa does it... I mean I'm not a painter maybe that's why... I mean his art is just magical.

There are so many style to try and master. His is the hardest. I have had a good go though need more practice

Yeah man, I agree it is amazing. I can't wait to see what he does for Ground Zeroes, and Phantom Limb. We all know it is a Metal Gear Solid game.

I am pissed now a lot cos i didn't know about the competiton arghhh! D:

I was a runner up in the competition with KonamiUK though this piece got 5 favourites and a comment on:

Which was way more than anyone else but failed to win! Happy with runners up though!

Great work! What did you use for the green/grey rough strokes? Paint brush and watered down ink or something? I like the effect it gives
