A quick drawing I did to relieve my frustrations with how some people portray Denmark as a rapist who abuses and manipulates people and straight up asshole.
I just thought this whole 'INSERT HETALIA CHARACTER HERE IS A RAPIST.' thing was over, but apparently not...
Sorry.. I'm just really sad and heartbroken right now that people still do this.. And this art is kinda depressing..Β
But it really bothers me because all the Danes I've met are the kindest most coolest people you could meet. It bothers me so much to see him portrayed as such horrible things. He's a nice guy, and has a deep character to him.
Β I hope you guys don't mind while I sob in my emo corner for a day or two.
I don't enjoy making sad art.

When people call hetalia characters rapist, etc. It makes me sad and feel bad for the character.
Especially in Den and France 's cases

And I have a huge crush on this character and inspired me to speak Danish and I relate to him the most because I know how it feels to be misunderstood and have family leave you but for a family to leave you? Especially a family who's an independent country ... It takes centuries , and this boy is doing everything no .. This Manden is trying to bring everyone together and sometimes he wouldn't even know how much lives he affected positively and if he was really I would hug him and cuddle this boy (same with most countries )
And say "Everything will be okay ." And it's funny because I'm talking about a anime character like this ... He is just a cute little dork that is trying to be the chain that holds everyone together because there is nothing he can do but put a smile on his face and to be the best lover , father , and brother he could ever be and hope that when he keeps smiling there would be a time were he can do the real thing ,
I'm done ranting but I believe that this statement should be heard no matter who reads this , but tbh this rant will make people do even more horrible things anyways that's for another topic goodnight and I hope everyone knows that ... My sister had read fan fictions where he is portrayed as manipulative, abusive and a rapist. I've even saw some fan art before and even comics. I'm not really surprised with hetalia characters being villanized. Since my first year in hetalia, I've already seen people overly villanize America and Spain in my side of the fandom. Although, there were those who overly romanticized them. My point is that the portrayal was OOC.Β
Until now, this whole villanizing thing is still going around. I'm still seeing some people do this to Belarus. Some people even make fanfiction where Russia and Ukraine hate her so much.Β

Exactly my point, this is defiantly a thing that still goes on in the fandom, and nowadays no character is safe from the 'rapist' portrayal.
I've had the displeasure of bumping into some fanfics with Den as exactly what you said a manipulative, abusive, and rapist. And it makes me sick..
America too, especially since it's my own country.
Ugh, seems like the APH fandom still has a lot to go.
