I've always loved STAR WARS from child to adult & no character stands out more for me than Darth Vader, the greatest villian of them all.When I was drawing him, I noticed that he's not all shiny, He actually has many textures within his armour & I wanted to show them the best I could In all his glory.
Originally, I was going to do the Bespin balcony as the background, but I didn't want to distract your attention to the awesome power he gives off. I do hope you all enjoy.
I would love to do more STAR WARS pics In the future.

This is awesome! The only thing that looks weird to me is the lightsaber, since it's implied it is in motion, but I feel not enough of it is being shown to fully five that effect. The shading is incredibly magnificent. Great work!

There are quite a lot of things I wanted to do with this piece that I never got round to, the lightsaber was one of those things.
My original sketches, was of Vader fighting Luke on the Bespin tower (before he tells him the big news) but I ran out of time.
Maybe In the future, I might get round to editing a drawn background for him.

You do a great job! It's tricky though, drawing an all black character & not making It look like a blob. A lot of people just draw Vader In heavy shadow as to avoid putting detail In.

I can't remember myself drawing him black, first he was gray and as I improved he became black&gray then black+monochrome colour then black+colours

There's no mistaking you for a Vader fan. I think you've drawn him In every position posible.

I know what you mean. Most pictures of Vader are In the dark, so It goes along way by finding good source material. Try & find a close-up front view & break his helmet down into simple shapes, then put them together like a puzzle. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Cheers dude! I used a million different resorce material to get It right. I never knew before I drew him, thet his costume changes very slightlt from film to film. I always think that If you get his awkward helmuit done right the rest will follow. Thanks again for your kind words!

He rocks so much! I do kinda hate Georgie boy for messing up episodes 1,2,3 though. A first year film student could have done a better job. Vader wasn't given the chance to shine In the third one.
