Jem's outstretched wings ruffled against the reverberation of the soft summer breeze. His eyes, sapphire as the night sky, drifted his view to the valley below him, everlasting, stretching, beautiful...
His eyes closed, inhaling a vision as perfect as a painting. His breath drew short, releasing his air into the atmosphere. It tasted sweet, sugary in that kind of delightful way. Jem's graceful wings arched down as his legs curved into a different position, ready to pounce...

At once, Jem's eyes flew open, tearing himself into a swift run. Ice dragon or not, he could run. Fast. His striding feet touched the edge of the cliff, the dewdrops on the blades of glass dripping on his swift claws. His mouth exploding into a smile, the spark inside growing bigger.
His wings erupted outwards, stretching in the direction of the horizon. He deepened the angle on his dive, the sunset's glare drifting in and out of his view.

God, how he loved to fly...
