I didn't know such things could be done with pipecleaners.

what color did you use for its skin?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BurndogDesign In reply to bennitorimanga [2011-10-17 03:31:17 +0000 UTC]

It's called 'Peach'(formerly 'Flesh', but not everybody has that colour skin, so they changed the name....) I bought a couple thousand sticks before Craft Canada closed down a few years ago, and now I don't see the colour anywhere. I don't know what I'm going to do when I run out. Good luck finding it!

wow! how do you do tht?! do u hav 2 use rlly small pipe cleaners 2 get all of the detail in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BurndogDesign In reply to copyninja31 [2011-07-15 03:50:49 +0000 UTC]

I used the 'regular' size, 6mm pipe cleaners for Kuzco. I now use 3mm thick pipe cleaners for the underlying structure because they hold their shape better, and then I may use 6mm or 3mm when I wrap the body, depending on what look I am trying to achieve for the clothing and accessories, etc.
Thanks for the Faves and for Watchin'!

wow, I am amazed that your pipecleaner Kuzoc looks great and that he has a face. My pipecleaner people don't have a face because I though it be better to imagine it then keep it still forever in a same expertion. I have a strang way, but that what makes me interisting.

OshunWave14 [2011-03-22 23:54:39 +0000 UTC]

That's excellent! I'm wondering- how did you make the face so solid, yet detailed? I thought that would be darn near impossible unless done on a larger medium. o.o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BurndogDesign In reply to OshunWave14 [2011-03-23 04:04:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
The face is not solid, it is hollow. In fact, all of my sculptures are hollow...
The size of the piece is dictated by how small I can make the character's eyes(as in drawing, always start with the eyes!) and how many 3mm pipe cleaners I think it will take to make up the rest of his face. It then evolves from there: head, hair, neck, torso, legs, arms...cape, accessories, weapons ...
It requires constant planning...and loads of patience

Thanks for the Fave. I'm sorry, but you can't have a Kuzco because I only make one of something and then move on(it's frustrating enough to get the first one 'just so'...)

buubaby25 In reply to BurndogDesign [2010-03-26 11:56:19 +0000 UTC]

Lol. No probs on the fave. It is super cute. Kuzco is one of my fave Disney Characters and when I saw this I just had to fave it.

Oh and as for wanting one, I wasn't serious. I would love to make one myself, but like I said before...I can only make flowers and even those look like crap. lol

Your pipecleaner creations are just insanely brilliant! How you can find the patience for this is amazing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BurndogDesign In reply to Kazul9 [2010-01-31 21:59:03 +0000 UTC]

I think I have ADHD (Attention Deficit...somethin', somethin'...oooh!, look!, a bird!...), so I find it very difficult to sit still for the entire time that is required to complete these fuzzy things. I bounce around from project to project until I get them done. Why does it take so long to learn to be patient?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kazul9 In reply to BurndogDesign [2010-01-31 22:47:23 +0000 UTC]

Same here! One minute I'm making something with pipecleaners, then I'm doodling, then I'm writing without ever remembering switching. I think patience is an illusion. XD

Um, I would retort but I can't conjure up any sort of witty remark at the moment. It has been awhile since I watched the movie. I reserve the right to add a smart-ass remark after I watch the movie again...meanwhile...

Kuzco turned out to be one of my best pipe cleaner characters. For an explanation of how I do it, check out my Simba page [link] . Look at my response to the Lovely =teblad, half way down the page, I explain it to her. If you haven't already, have a look at her stuff too! [link]
