The body is a bit short. 5 heads tall as opposed to the correct 7, but I'll let you slide since you are growing into your own style instead of basing it off mine. I actually like where you are headed and I'm rather proud of you. I bag on you a lot, but in all actuality, you're doing pretty well. There are some rough edges on this and the anatomy being off (calves and forearms are too short, his waist is a bit high).
Quick anatomy lesson:
The forearms are the same length as the upper arm, and that's starting from the wrist. You leveled them out from the tip of the hands to elbow, which is the reason its short. Elbows line up with the belly button on a person, so you got that right. However, you neglected where his hips would be and went straight into his thighs with the lines you drew, cutting off about half a head's length from his torso. If you extended the arms and then the torso, the hands would still fall halfway down the thigh like they're supposed to. From there, much like the arm, the legs 2 sections both thigh and calf are the same length with a bit extra on the calf for the ankle joint to the foot. But just like the arm, you made the foot, ankle and calf all equal to the length of the thigh. The top of the head is a bit much, so if you trimmed that down, and extended the parts of the body, it should result in a more anatomically correct person.
Overall, I give you a 6.5 out of 10 for drawing.
PS Just a random sidenote, but now that I think about it, you should take the flowered part of his hilt and turn it from an 8 point to a 6 point since 6 is the atomic number of carbon. It would make for more sense. And if you really wanted to, you could make 3 slits into his mask on each side for a total of 6 and keep it as the magic number for his character design. It would also work on the slotted parts of his armored sleeves.

lol I see where ur coming from. I was trying to deviate away from more of the anime-ish into more of the comic book style which I think suits me better. I'm kinda mixing them both. but sometimes it gets a little weird because in the comic books they shorten their bodys and give them jacked legs, high torsos, and shorter arms compared to more of the anime style. Was kinda of like an experiment to see which came out better. When I focus on my own mix of the 2, shows better results.
-to ur sidenote, I was thinking that and had it on an old 1, but I just thought it would be too much holes on the mask, and the whole squad uses it so blah.
The platings on the legs and arms are all 6. I based mostly everything on 6. But u got me there on the handle of the sword ;D u shulda told me earlier!!! But culd u please color this, since my #1 mission atm is getting the color base for him over with so I can draw other characters. Urs is next and I'm fusing ur SoTD version, with my style nd seeing how it comes out.
Thanks for the tips nd everything. But do u think I should make the anatomy more realistic or just leave it kinda cartoon/comic bookish the way it is?

Comic book style is distorted yes, but not to the degree of being 5 heads tall. They stay within that margin of 6-7. But true marvel yes, true marvel book by stan lee himself, actually says its 8. 7 is young adult, and 7 1/2 is average person. 8 is a well built person, and 9 is used in fashion to hyper extend the body to accentuate and make for an easier model for the clothes, which is mainly the reason models have to be tall. The clothes are made for tall people, so the models have to be tall too. Superheroes are jacked, yes. Anime is skinny and more toned. Most of your comic references probably seem distorted due to "foreshortening" caused by perspective, which is purposely done to amplify the effect of dynamic poses. Either that, or your comic references are from comics that have an already stylistically warped anatomy. Surn has basically learned the same way so he has some messed up anatomy too, but once he gets it down he'll be able to choose how his anatomy will fit into his style. This is why I suggest you study some classic marvel if you want to get it down right. I've already started learning from comics, which is why my anatomy improved 2 fold.
Every person who gets handed equipment doesn't always keep it in its original state. I'm sure if C6 modified his mask to his own liking, it wouldn't be the end of the world, and it's also an easy way to differentiate the characters without much work. Naruto did it well when they had headbands with different symbols. Ninjas wear the same blue pants, shirts, sandals, and vests, and all they change is the symbol. It's almost so simple it blows your mind. Which is why even color change, an extra slot or even a painted design on a mask (which is something I would do to scare the shit out of my enemies, think Army of Two) can be effective.
And last I checked, you told me his character is all grey. Given that he is black (not being racist here), all you would have to do is shade him in with pencil and you'd already have most of a feel for his character, while leaving his skin tone to be done on the comp. So... I don't see how it becomes all that important. Not unless you had other ideas for changing his color scheme. As fat as sword goes, I figured you liked the 4 point design reminiscent of Bleach, except its overlaid with another smaller 4-point, which was why I didn't say much before. As far as my character goes, which version of the character are you referring to? He has different S-classes (differential year designs, seasons) so you'd have to be more specific.
Anatomy should still for the most part be closer to actuality, but as far as distortion of lines (ex. hyper extended curves on women, or smoother curves) and descriptive drawing, (ex. drawing muscles a certain way; I use light hatching to show muscle tone briefly; I describe my knees under the pants with a U to simply show where it is) it's all you. Anime is already somehow a mix of the two. It is realistic in some sense (depending on the artist you're talking about), but certain features are changed for their own style (how they may draw faces), shading is simplified (just like cartoons), and then eventually coloring style (that should be something you look into also).

Hmmm. I guess its the recent comics that are distorted xD
The newest one u drew with u and surn 2gether. I'll try to whip it up today if possible.
And back to the old anatomy!!!
But I gotta admit I like this way better because I think ninjas/assasins having baggy pants ruins the idea of the stealth so I made them tighter and customed to their bodies instead of just flapping around. The new drawings I do will be all updates for now.
Nd ur character reminds me of Vincent when it looks like that. Compliment!!

Yea probably. I've looked at a pic of spiderman for the marvel vs capcom game, and he was drawn 6 heads high.
Ah gotcha. That sotD version is S4. By default, your character is classified as S5 since he doesn't show up til then.
Yep, gotta keep working on it. I've actually looked at my stuff from only a few months ago and the proportion is warped too. I'm still growing into it.
I prefer to draw high boots or shin armor for characters to provide ankle support and protection and also allow for running through mud and such. Overall its like being a soldier and being heavily prepared. And as far as stealth goes, tightly wrapped clothing like monk attire works just as well as skin tight clothing.
And thanks, I love Vincent cuz he's a BAMF.

I don't do boots lol. I found out that for stealth short and thin shoes would be better. And for sports high tops usually used for sports which require ankle protection nd low tops used for sports which require more agility nd sidesteps.
So for my stealth types I stay away from the boots.
And I still haven't seen the pic of me u did on friday

They're custom boots anyways. You'd have to look at the character sheet. Even though they are made like boots, they only support, resist weather and are steel plated like boots. The soles and treads are made for running, so naturally they don't make that much noise either, and I'm quite adept at sneaking up and being stealthy regardless. I usually turn a little bit, throwing my own body weight into a centrifugal side step so I actually reach farther, but you already know that from seeing me pass through obstacles in class.
But you're right for the most part. Ninjas shouldn't be wearing boots anyways. Boots of stealth are for black ops, navy seals and snipers. Haha
And the pic is called Strikedown. Yes, it is up, just not on fb

Yep. Now you're beginning to see on the same level as I am. It's like that mental clarity Sasuke had when he got the third mark on his sharingan and saw everything even better than before. I've been looking at stuff on that level for sometime so I already knew what is top tier.
