Origin: He was once a Jedi named Anakin Skywalker, but his fascination with the Force was unhealthy. Upon hearing the possibility of learning the secret of life, Anakin betrayed the Jedi who had once been his allies and took apprenticeship under Darth Sidious. While he was brutally defeated and near-dead, Sidious restored him as an imposing machine of death. In time, the Republic Vader once served fell way to the Galactic Empire and Vader served as its emissary--an imposing threat to its greatest adversaries.
