Do you try sometimes to shot with a 50mm 1.4 / wide open / I know it's not your style but with all these lights perhaps some kind of street abstract shot will be appear

I've tried that before, and in this case I used a 40mm at f/2.8 so it's not that far off. At this distance the DOF would not be so shallow anyway.

haha yes i know it was smoke but i was imagining the romantic version with fog
Personally i live in a isle where winds are strong and it is almost impossible see a scene like that of this image. For this reason the shot remind me some movie.
Before i noticed better how the smoke assume the same color of the blu neon, same thing near the red lantern. It is always fascinating how the elements interact between them
