Description
Drift and Jetstorm having a discussion after Jetstorm is rescued, and he's upset that he couldn't rescue Fixit and Slipstream. Drift finds himself acting more like a father than a teacher in this moment, and it makes him question how he truly sees his minicons...Transformers belongs to Hasbro, I believe.

Early on, I had a headcanon that they really were his sons, but didn't know it, and he didn't tell them because their mother had died and he was trying to distance himself from them so he wouldn't feel as much grief if something happened to them.
But I believe that as he watches the way Denny interacts with Russell, he wonders if that's how his students might see him.

It was an idea I had. I don't even know if they're related or not. If they are, then they were separated when they were really small, because Slipstream mentioned the two of them meeting as thieves in one of the shorts.

Maybe that in their childhood,they lost thier parents. Slipstream went to walk to the Serenity Yards where Overload sent Ransack to steal Slipstream's ball bearing. And then,Shadow Raker saw him and bring him to take care of him. After that,Slipstream met Jetstorm. After some years passed,Shadow Raker recruited Drift but the only influence was that Shadow Raker trained Jetstorm and Slipstream to steal things for him. And Drift,not happy with that,stole Slipstream and Jetstorm from him and headed to Earth,promised them to be their father. Maybe that's the reason behind all this.

You never know. But I doubt they'll explain everything about the pasts of those three. (I think they leave it open for fanfictions on purpose)
I mean, did it ever say that Drift and the minicons were Shadow Raker's Acolytes at the same time? I mean, it might be that Drift left and was replaced by those two in the group, and Drift came across the two of them on a job and convinced them to abandon Shadow Raker as well, essentially "stealing" them from Shadow Raker.

They explained some of their past in the episode Out of shadows but I believe Drift took the minicons because Shadow Raker trained them to steal things for him. It was revealed by Slipstream in Season 1 that Drift took them from a thief life. But the rest of this is still to be remains and I agree with you. Also,I feel like they also did'nt explain Steeljaw's past after all..
