I'm working on a character that I can partially develop, but can sort of keep on "standby".What I mean by that, is that I have the essentials of the character made but they're not specifically nailed down to any one setting or story - that way if a friend has a fun sounding collaborative fiction project, I will have a character at the ready with profile and artwork that will only need a few minor tweaks to fit into any given scenario.
This is something that I've been considering doing for a while, the catalyst for actually getting started was a lovely photo of a really pretty Siamese cat that I saw online.
So I'm making two versions of this character, both inspired by the cat's markings and color. One version is going to be human, wearing clothes and a mask that carry the cats' colors and to some extent, markings. The other version of the character is going to be an anthro character. They'll both be the same person, just one is a literal cat girl and the other is a human with cat themed gear - but otherwise, they'll have the same personality and background.
I feel that with two versions, I will be able to fit into just about any setting - something with anthro characters, such as a fantasy setting, or sci-fantasy, or even science fiction. And a human character that fits into all of those things too, but where an anthro character would not work due to the rules of the setting.
The character will be a ninja / thief / rogue type character - teenage girl, of course!
So, here we have my current work on the human version of the character. So far I've combined some elements of two separate costumes I had previously custom made - Tanango's skirt and top, uv-mapped now to have nice new fabric shaders. And also the harness and "ninja mesh" leggings, sleeves, and harness from Klara Becker. The mask was originally Strike Lion's but I've modified it and UV-mapped it so I could draw textures for it.
She's definitely not done yet, but I'm happy with how she's coming along so far, so I wanted to share!

I like her outfit overall. If I could give her accessories I would add two katana swords onto her back and a silencing pistol mounted on the side of her waist.
In my opinion her outfit just screams "SECRET ASSASSIN" in my view. There is nothing I would change about her overall costume, with the exception of adding more weapons onto her person.
I can definitely see her lurking in the shadows of a forest waiting to kill her next target at the earliest opportunity.
I think this version of her is better especially the fact that she's not wearing any shoes just improves her overall assassin look in my view. You can just tell that she's ready for battle just by looking at her overall appearance, and you can also presume that she's an expert master of the silent kill at first glance.
Overall you've done an excellent job with this piece. Well done.

Yep. Hive is big on stealth, although she can be a hard hitter when that is required.

Whether or not she has "magical" ninja skills will depend on whether or not the setting I use her in supports them. So she could simply be using skills and tricks if that is what the setting allows. Or, if the setting is more open to mystical or magical powers, she might have Ninpo or Ninjutsu chi-powered techniques! I think I'll initially definer her without chi abilities, but we'll see what happens?

Oh that is so nice, i wish i could create costumes, that is really amazing.
Ah nice, so a more tradicional ninja fighter using skills and weapons/devices. Theoretically Ninjas would use tricks to make people think they had supernatural powers.
She can always learn or wake up her chi-powered techniques with training or in a dire situation ^^
