I like this. It shows apparent talent, and I hope to further your potential -- even by a little bit -- with this critique.
I have a liking for months/butterflies, and therefore cannot convey my harshest critique on this piece. Just joking.
I admire the black and white, goth-like dimension you've added to the piece. It gives the butterfly a fragile look, like a temporary life, if I may. I prefer all photos that depict life in black and white and you have thus aroused the aesthetic in me.
The good of course, comes with the bad.
I don't like, or rather, I would prefer if you had lessened the noise of the photo, or perhaps added some blur to it, to the background.
The photo is one of conviction, of the fragility of life in particular. If you could have blurred the background just a bit, I am sure the overall effect the photo portrays would change drastically.
I love the flower, it also presents itself as one of fragility and thus works in harmony with the subject of the photograph.
The embossed effect given (unintentionally, I presume) is lovely, especially on the flower.
Overall, I admired the photograph. Thank you for sharing.
