UPDATE: Uhm, so a little bit of a moment here. I showed this to Mr. Lee at MorrisonCon in Las Vegas (the scanned art, sans background bascially) and he complimented me on my colors.

"I remember drawing that. It was for a card or something and her legs were too long. You fixed my proportions! It looks great! You're really good." ~Jim Lee

And then, I died of happiness.

Jim Lee was one of the original artists who inspired me to want to draw. Ny 4th grade art teacher introduced me not to the Uncanny Xmen, but to Jim Lee being the artists, and opened my eyes to the knowledge that if I worked hard enough, I could one day draw the XMen. This was a turning point. I was 9, but my mind was made up; I was going to draw and get hired by marvel. I used to tell my mom I wanted to be as good as Jim Lee someday. I'm still not there, but one day...

Either way, I found out he was confirmed for MorrisonCon today, an event to which I will be attending, and got all fangirl. I would love to meet him, worship at his feet repeating "I am not worthy" and probably trying way too hard not to word vomit all over the man.

This is an homage to both my art teacher, Mr. Porter (and a picture he drew me of Rogue so many years ago while explaining how cool Jim Lee was) and to Mr. Lee himself.

Rogue was done with Copic and Micron Pen markers, but the background was done digitally. There wasn't a mixed medium option under fanart.
