GOSH I'm so excited for spooky season!! I'm finally given access to an irresponsible amount of cinnamon and canned pumpkin, everything is cooling off, and I can wear all the crocheted hats and squishy sweaters I have stockpiled! Then there's hot chocolate and crunchy leaves and earlier sunsets, and the decor!!! Not to mention it's Fletcher's favorite time of year. I think I'm just channeling his excitement.
Who here is dressing up for Halloween? I have a bumble bee costume coming in any day now that I just can't wait to wear. Bees have become a strangely recurring theme throughout this last year in my life, and I've ended up learning a lot about them, including the fact that all worker bees are not female as I had previously believed, but have the ability to become female if the need arises (i.e. the old queen is lost or killed). Worker bees are a sex all their own! With this along with my recent transition, I've decided to go as non-BEE-nary! 
What do you all have planned for Halloween? If you're dressing up, why'd you pick that costume?

I am going in a home made 'death' costume that includes a 'I see you but you don't see me' face mask, a custom (foam) scythe blade, and this great flowing black cloak. But the best part, in my opinion, is the hand made black feathered wings. I used wire and crepe paper to fashion each individual feather and then hot glued them onto the wire and fabric frames, and they're seperate, each wing is its own piece. I have a discrete ribbon tied to each, the ribbon goes through tiny holes in the cape and down through my shirt to attach to a home made waistband, and then the wings shift and move with my every motion, like I'm ruffling and settling them. I developed a way of shaking my shoulders that makes them really move naturally like a bird shaking and settling down. Then I sell the whole costume by moving in slow and inhuman ways, pausing to stare facelessly at people until they notice, them walking on, twisting my spine and walking with heavy but silent steps. I accidentally scared a dog and became a local legend at my mom's town's day of the dead festival. I will wear it in Canada this year and hope the bars let me keep the face covering if I pull it off to show who I am on the way in.

Once I get pictures sure...the ones I have are neat but...useless, because all the black in the costume fades into the black around me. I'll get more pictures soon. I had to hand make the wings though, cuz I couldn't find feathered wings in the place I was living at the time.

Its just because the camera was really bad. Pixels all over the damn place, black outfit and black background, so much static you cant tell where the edges are.

A fellow Halloween enthusiast! Pumpkins are my overall aesthetic.
I tend to enjoy to more "trick" part than the "treat" since my sweet tooth is waning.
But dressing up in costume has always been a personal fav since I go all out.
I tell ya, I really make em' jealous with what I come up with.
