Heeeeeyyyyyyyy guess whoooooooo's braindeeeeadHaven't written in weeks 'cause of other projects and I've spent all day twisting my mind around calculus 'cause tomorrow's my finaaaaaaaaaaal (as long as I get a D or better I'll pass though so it's all good, just gotta keep studying tomorrow and hope I don't blow my math chops when it comes time to actually take the test)
But anyway! The good stuff. Granted, slightly unhinged and unorganized because it's quite late and studying all day has reduced my mental faculties to a lose stack of rubble.
I saw a commercial with a baby sleeping on its dad's chest and everything went downhill from there. I actually really like the top left picture and might finish it, but I might just be saying that because I haven't spent much time away from it yet. As is the case with pretty much everything I post, if you want to finish any of these, please do! I can send you separate/cleaner versions of the sketches.
Top left: Fletcher snoozing on Nos, who now has to mutter quietly to himself instead of just having a full blown conversation. Guys. Fletcher's whole torso fits in Nos's hand. Guys. F***. Also I guess I kinda forgot to draw clothes on either of them here. It's not even a social necessity for Nos, especially not at this point in history. Lucky bastard works from home and hangs out with his kid all day every day.
Bottom left: the dudes hard at work. The least finished out of any of these, but I'm sleeby.
Right: A recurring struggle. Nos, too, would just like a nap, but the little dude doesn't know what he really needs. When Fletcher gets low on power, the EVE programming in him tells him to go into low power mode to wait for someone to come recharge his battery. Plus, his blunt little chompers make it hard to actually bite anything.
Dialogue:
N: Please.
F: Nuh-uh.
N: But you're hungry.
F: I wanna nap.
N: Okay, but first you have to eat.
F: I don't want it.
N: You want to use the charger instead?
F: NO!!!
N: Then eat.
Guyyyyys wish me luck! May this be my final math class. (Wishful thinking, right?)

Nos looks so tired in that conversation there. Not even enough energy to get annoyed.
Is clothing ever a social necessity for robots? Most of the ones in BLOSC don't wear clothes, they just have vaguely outfit-like paint jobs. Even Nos's 'outfit' in the show is just the cape, and it seems to be more for effect than out of modesty since he's always flaring it open for drama.
...I've had a sudden thought that family era Nos would get along great with Chad.

He's had this conversation so many times, he just wants to get it over with. XD
It's definitely not a requirement in the beginning, but as time goes on I imagine fashion, culture, and society all change so that clothes are at least more expected, even if they're not required for robots that don't have anything... indecent for public exposure (exceptions would be cases like Fletcher later in his life).
I want to see that happen!!

Hm...y'ever roleplay? We could MAKE that happen, your family man Nos and my Chad. We'd just need a setting where a futuristic robot from across the stars and a seven hundred year old hippy who was last awake in the sixties could meet.

I’m not an exceptional roleplayer. One of my biggest issues is that I lose inspiration to write when I can’t tie it into my headcannon (hence why I only ever write about the same thing). If we could devise a reason it could work out though, i think I’d be willing to try!

Well, my characters hop universes frequently...Chad isn't in a story where that's a thing, but for the sake of getting these two together I'd be willing to make an exception. You can keep your headcannon and we can either have Chad show up in Nos's house at any point you like, or...we could play with it more. We could have 'mystical unknown cosmic powers' throw them both into a third location with a note saying 'do these things and we'll send you home'. It doesn't need to be anything more than a dream in cannon. Nos wakes up wondering what the hell THAT was all about, adventure is had while status quo is maintained.

If it's something you want to try, I'd be willing to give it a shot! I've been wanting to work more on reformed Nos acting on his own in social situations, and I can't imagine anything more social than meeting someone new :>

Chad is always happy to meet new friends. So, I feel like there's more possibilities in transporting them BOTH to a new location...perhaps a sort of massive space bound 'island', a huge domed space station filled with different biomes, like a forest, a tundra, stuff like that, that used to be used for testing of some sort but has since been abandoned...there's a mix of organic and mechanical non sentient life living there, and the two have to find their way to the control center to figure out a way off the station.

That sounds amazing! If I might make one request though, instead of being an untethered island, could it be in distant Earth orbit? Nos-4-a2 is very conscious about his parole, and one of the main conditions for his release is that he stays on Earth and its satellites. He'd go to a dark place fast if he thought someone was trying to get him arrested.

Sure, that can work. It would fascinate Chad to have proof of being off planet. Could it still be abandoned? Like, no one's supposed to be on it, no one would know they were there?

A terrible time, actually, since I'll be heading back to Canada tomorrow...and also I don't wake up at normal times. Discord does save messages day to day, so the way I've personally always roleplayed is to just respond whenever you have time. If we happen to catch eachother, that's cool, but otherwise we get a few responses per day.
