Description
Copyright Paizo Publishing LLC.A couple more maps for Paizo.
City map for Pitax, city on the Pathfinder roleplaying game located in the River Kingdoms, on the world of Golarion. The numbering and notes ARE NOT OFFICIAL, that's something I added as a sample.
This work was a reference map for uber awesome Rob Lazzerati to do the proper map in all the Pathfinder cartography glory.
I was assigned by James Jacobs to do the city design based on a sketch sheet and a few description pages with some of the city locations and people. This was my third assignment doing cities of golarion. In the end, James asked me to color it to se a "semi-final" version of it. You'll notice the map has sketch outlines if you look close enough
HEre's a link to the Map folio where you can get a copy of Lazzeratti's final map. It appear on Pathfinder's Kingmaker final AP.
Here's a link to the map folio [link]
My first colored map ever, hope you like!

How long does something like this take you to make?
It takes me days to make something not nearly as well detailed, colored, or elaborate.

Great piece of work, and looks like quite a bit of effort. If it was me I wouldn't have this as the semi-final piece of work to base something else on, I would use this as it is ! Looks great and has that groovy hand made warmth to it - not a boring clinically straight line in sight.

If you look closer you can see the sketchy lines and shavy angles on the buildings/walls, so I think it needs a bit more of work to be a "final" one. Thou maybe that's not a "deal braker" for some people

Really lovely. Congrats on a fantastic piece of work. The detailing really brings it all together and sells the city.

Very nice indeed! Did they tell you how the buildings should be arranged or did you choose the city layout yourself?

that is pretty much my job, to do the city layout. They gave me a descrition of the city with their wards, main buildings and features (like the side of the river, number of walls, etc) and a very rough sketch of how it goes and then I have the liberty (under revisions of course)to shape it as cool as I can

Why is it that I can pore over fantasy maps, but looking at a map of a real city makes me instantly bored? I love the colors and the layout. Well done!

Thanks! Maybe cause real city maps are just a bunch of mostly-gray blocks. You can hardly see anyd etails unless you zoom-in too close

Definitely! If real cities had places like the "Mines of Ale" I would be much more interested in their maps.
