Swashbuckler Rogers was born the eldest child of an ex merchant sailor and a barmaid in the city of Baltimore, US. A young and sea-keen child, Swashbuckler spent his early years as a cabin boy on the great navy ships, and doting on his younger sister.

It was only after the death of his father when money became tight – too tight to pay for his sister’s medications - that he took to piracy. Even the honest sailor jobs he acquired could not afford him the freedom or time to seek the pricier medicines. Yet it was with great irony that Swashbuckler’s career as a pirate would cost him much more than money...
