So yeah - new ship "One good smurf deserves another" didn't help since I was already starting to ship it

YES I still like Handy x Marina and Clumsy x Smurfstorm But allow me to explain;

Handy had always had problems with his long distance / interspecies relationship with Marina. Smurf village needed him as much as Atlantica needed her, and Handy still hadn't found a way of the two being together properly. It also doesn't help that a Mermaid's lifespan is a lot shorter than a Smurf's, and Marina was getting older faster. As her father too grew older and weaker, he handed the crown - and control of the kingdom, over to Marina, suggesting that perhaps it was time for her marry. Shocked by the idea, she met with Handy to tell him of her father's wishes. It opened his eyes - he would live another 900 years or so but Marina had far less. If she waited her whole life for Handy she might waste it, and he would still be living another few centuries. He loved her, but he had to let her go. It's currently unknown what Marina did eventually do.

Clumsy and Smurfstorm were a happier couple, at least for a while. The two were blessed with a stork delivery of twins - Crash and Bolt, and for a while everything was Smurfy. Then Smurfstorm was promoted to sky scout leader, which covered most of the forest and beyond. She could be gone days or even months at a time and it was putting a strain on both of them. Clumsy did most of the single parenting (which was hard with such hyper kiddos) and Smurfstorm constantly stressed about leaving him to do so. One time she comes back and breaks down - something Stormy never does. She loves her job, but can't cope with it constantly stressing her and Clumsy out and worrying about the twins. She admits it might be better to let each other go - they do love each other, but at this point it might be better for everyone involved.

Handy and Clumsy have been good friends since they were Smurflings, and the two get talking about their girlfriends and the struggles of long distance. Through mutual understanding, the two form a new relationship, which works out for everyone. Clumsy doesn't have to single parent, Handy can let go of his pining, Smurfstorm can let go of her guilt and Crash and Bolt get twice the amount of Birthday and Christmas presents (Smurfstorm always comes home for the holidays)

Clumsy and Handy are likely to have a girl named Marina, because Handy wanted to keep her legacy alive (see my previous post)

Also if you think about it for a second the most accident prone smurf x the fixer seems logical XD
