Fun fact! I actually have incredibly mild naviphobia
I CAN get on things like ferries cause they're quite sturdy. But I've never enjoyed the bobbing of rough waters or getting splashed. Maybe it's because the English sea is always cold XD Y'know, Mediterranean sea would be fine cause it's nice and warm 
And yet for some weird reason, I LOVE the TTTE boats 
I still love Captain but I'm not sure why XD Maybe there's some strange psychological reason embedded in my past ... or maybe my brain just recognises a good boi when it sees one

Ok, I have a headcanon that implies her, so despite being almost unknown she has a reason to appear in my human TTTE verse.
Ok, so, Lucinda is the driver of this boat, she has been driving it for a long time, so when Bulstrode met her, he started to insult her driving abilities with sexist phrases like "women can't do that" or "women are bad drivers", that's when Salty (he's friends with Lucinda) appeared to set a competence between these two.
In one of the expeditions Lucinda and Bulstrode sailed away to know who's the best sailor.
A strong storm came, Lucinda could scape the huge waves but Bulstrode couldn't, so his boat ran aground in the beach.
He used his binoculars and saw Lucinda getting fun of him at the distance.
That's when he accepted that sometimes women can do things better than men.
