Mal's a young Dunmer thief from a farm in Solstheim, who smuggled himself to Skyrim in order to weasel out of an arranged marriage.

Overall, he's a rather rude person and not very charismatic. Openly untrusting to anyone of any race, including his own, his standoffish personality and tendency to pick fights makes him pretty unlikable. He can also carry a serious grudge and will go great lengths to get back at a person.

Despite this, he has a decent morale and often finds himself easily guilted into doing the right thing. He's very lonely, but would never admit to this.
