I realized that, but Iยดve tested an underwater scene and you just loose the impact of the model shapes. so.... it flies.

To my knoledge kirkethea is just for render.
in Terragen you can create things: hills, water, clouds...

oke i thought Trgn was also only a render prog pretty cool stuff thanx, do u use the free version? i read that u can only use 3layers in free vers & the format is smaller, is thats enough 2make cool stuff? & can i also import sketchup models? or is it more like Brice1...building sky mountains plants sea & stuff?
im a bit searching for what fits me best with a fast learning curve 2 take my models a step further without having 2 install a 200G Maya3D on my 8y old laptop

Yes its very good.
The free one can entertain you for a long time.
It allow almost everything, just the 800pix limitation
is boring, but after you tested it you can buy the full version. Most of the images in my gallery are
with the free version.
No it does not import sketchup directly. It imports .obj.
Either you use the SketchupPro and export to .obj or you export to .collada and use other free soft to export to .obj.
Cheers.

Thanks,
Yes. Terragen do a good job on the watter, but no so good on the shoreline. That why I put the Arc in the meddle od the ocean and not on the beach...

Where the models render in Terragen2 as well?

Yes!
Terragen imports .obj files.
You just need to fix a bit the materials
and render everything together.
The .obj is not perfect, for example Terragen dont smooth normals so well as
other 3D softwares, but the effect of the model on the terrain is good enough to
use it.
