Very nice idea and concept, nice work I must say that at first looked like it a lot: D
Now I have a few criticisms as is normal e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
It seems vaguely area around the empty frame image that has a textura but that's not it. I think it would look a little nicer bar that you put something else there, some other world, or something else entirely. Also you need a little more attention to devote some water that you add splashes a little bit more detail, I think it would be much better. Also it leaves the frame around the picture, that some parts a little lighter. That in essence it is this hope that will nicely accept this criticism, I did not mean it e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
Keep it up and I wish you all the best ... greeting

When you first see it, one might go, "uuhhh, what is that?" If truly your audience were to think this, then you have done well as your piece is an attention grabber.

Looking closer, not only is this opportunity to peek into another world so captivating and enticing but those broken glasses help portray that truly people have craved this world.

Unfortunately as an artwork, though concept is beautiful, your detailings are off. The frame itself does not compliment its' neighbor, it hogs the attention too much. And as I peek closer, that thing with the little waterfall is off.

It makes me wonder whether or not this world of yours is real or just some kind of card-board illusion.

Regardless, this world appeals with not only simplicity but fantasy, a chance to be free. To be at peace, a chance to be accepted. Your "Another World" is truly a world craved by people.

awesome surreality!

This piece has excellent simplicity. The really clean finish gives it a strong impact and tone e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

The central focal point is a great reflection of the optimism. From the darker immediate foreground to the brighter pinhole perspective, to me says, 'if you look a little closer you'll see beauty in all things'

the horizon in the far ground stretches to infinity underlining the importance of to keep a sharp perspective e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d… " width="29" height="21" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="409" title="Dance!"/> well done!

theme's i identify with this peace are:
"through the looking glass"
"break down walls"
"look closer"
"its worth seeing beauty in the detail, no matter how big or small the obstruction may be"

well done!

First of all , I love the surreality feel of that. Great colors of the other world very heavenly. Great use of the green and blue colors. Mysterious , soft and magical. however here's a small tip to improve this pretty piece , considering the shattered broken glass , you need to pay a little more attention to the glass as it needs some 3d feel for it , if you know what I mean , this tutorial will help you get what I mean : www.deviantart.com#/art/Broken… .
that doesn't take anything from this beautiful piece , you've done a wonderful job e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> keep it up and accept my critique e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>.

I like the concept of forbidden entry into this other world, and the colors are coaxing the viewer to look further. There are only a couple of things I may have done slightly different. The plants may have lead the viewers eye through the portal if they were emerging from inside instead of being only on the outside. The other thing is the broken shards of glass are not transparent. I would have made them just a bit more see through. The overall feel of this piece is mysterious, dangerous and yet comforting. Great imagination was used and was well done.

Lets start by the goodies e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I really like your concept, the broken glass added a touch of desire, like someone passed through the frame and the viewer is peeking to see what's is there. The plants reinforce this, creating a loop between the worlds.

I also see a couple of thing that could be improved, like the plants, they're just in the inside, that's look like a wall in a closed room, it looks like they come from the other world, but doesn't has no trace of this. To fix this you could add some leaves coming from the outside to the inside.

And the monument shadow, it would look better if you done it a gradient shadow, more darkest close the monument, and being lighter closer to the frame.

Any way, it's just a few details that don't take the magic of this piece. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c… " width="20" height="20" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="60" title="Clap"/>

Hello, here is a critique for you on ‘Another World’, it might just be about my perception/s but I still hope that you find it useful.

The first thing I want to say is that one of my favourite types of images is fantasy worlds, so many places can be created that evoke feelings and with your artwork I think to myself where is this? And more important I want to visit, which is what you are inviting me to do through your cracked window - so well done!

You have used mostly cool colours, combinations of blue (meaning trust) and green (meaning growth), which might explain why I feel comfortable with wanting to venture in. Having said that the blue border is very steel-like in colour and while it is saying ‘trust’, I feel a hint of danger which is quite exciting. The blue border takes up a lot of your picture plane and as such has a strong impact on your image, though I’m not sure whether this was intentional or not. The border gives an overall peep-through-the-keyhole effect however I think your world is more interesting than your border so I would have liked it to have taken up a bit more of your overall image.

I like the waterfall, it enhances the fantasy world feel but it ends in a blob-like blue pool that could have been rendered a bit more rather than left as a blue cut out shape … or perhaps it could have become a stream flowing toward the viewer?

I see you have used a lot of pre-cut files which are handy at times but the user needs to be careful that they don’t look too much like cut out images. It looks like you have used some effects to create shadows etc for the pre-cuts, particularly with the plants around the frame to help make things look more real and I think you have also layered your stocks well. The only thing I might have tinkered with more with the pre-cuts is the broken glass, I’m not sure why but it has a kind of plastic look.

Overall I like ‘Another World’, it attracted my attention and it looks like you have pulled many other viewers into your better place! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

Wow thank you for your in depth critique, really appreciate it!
About the colors:
Yes, this was kind of what I was trying to do. I wanted to make the viewer feel a bit uneasy about the place where he is (inside, where everything feels cold) and thereby lead the viewer to the mystical place outside.

I really like the sense of depth in this piece! It makes me feel as if I am actually seeing this from the inside. The baroque texture is very understated and pleasing to look at and doesn't take anything away from the center focal point. The misty scene that looks like it has unfolded outside is a beautiful color palette and has an extremely calming effect. It's almost as if I can actually hear the waterfall flowing through the rock. The broken glass is a nice added touch without being overly harsh looking. I think the whole composition is very original and I really enjoy looking at it.
Nice work!

You have combined so many different pieces together and yet your masterful blending of them makes it look like an original work, if you were looking to achieve a "through the looking glass" effect i think you have, use of cool shades has a nice calming effect, a gentle soothing pleasant feeling also invoked by celtic artworks, everything looks good together while being subtle , a very good work

In reference to what kimsol said, by adding some refraction to the glass shard it might help it appear more as glass rather than sharp cut outs of a plastic bag.
