Because somebody told me to do so.
Done with Apophymator Script by morphapoph (and Apo 7x.15B of course!). You can skip this, there's no problem.

now, that's nifty.Β The blurring makes the "flower" look as though it's a reflection in water. And that is VERY nice.
People have used Apophymator in ways I haven't anticipated. This animation is a good example of something i would not have thought of doing with the script.
Plus the flame itself is very well done.

Cool... I'll help if you need but I haven't kept up too well with Apo changes.
(But the script can't function in 7X versions beyond 15b and I know that version well enough.)
If you haven't encoded video before that would probably be the more difficult task.
I can usually help troubleshoot when people have problems with the script itself.
So give a holler if you need help once you get around to trying to use the script for a video.
True, ("not-virtual"), dirt-based flowers have been bloomin' all over the place where I live, btw.

The problem is that I'm using Apo on a Mac, and whenever I use the script, it freezes.
I think it's more a matter of Wine/PlayOnMac than of the program or the script themselves.

I've never known what to do for Apple users.
I've seen a flame program that is made explicitly for Apple.
I doubt it would help with scripts.Β In fact, I'm just about positive it wouldn't.
I can find that program if you're curious though.
It may work better for doing ordinary Apo stuff than Apo-through-Wine works.

Don't worry, the only issue I have with Apo is that scripts don't work, but I can still borrow my dad's laptop or ask somebody to do that for me.

OK, thanks for the info about scripts.Β I figured they wouldn't work on mac for a number of reasons.
This is the fractal generator for macs I had in mind, but I didn't know that it required a license fee (~$24)Β :

It seems in fact, that there are two different programs, but I didn't look long enough to determine a difference.
