Description
Some things one can't outgrow.Other's we don't want to.
Calvin and Hobbes is mine X3 I own every strip ever published.
I should've used a thicker brush for the outlines. and YES, those outlines were done digitally.
I purposefully didn't draw Calvin's face, it wouldn't have worked to try and adept him to look older and frankly I don't want to much around with Mr. Bill Watterson's original style too much.
anyway~ this is for the C & H fans out there
Calvin and Hobbes is (c) Bill Watterson

Wow. even in age, he's still got those same dinner roll-esque purple sneakers. Great homage to Bill Watterson, the damn recluse that he is.

Aww, that's so heart touching. It makes me want to cry.
If the comic did go on, I hope he would still treat Hobbes the same. Oh no, I'm starting to cry!!

Ah, this takes me back. One of the things I loved reading when I was a kid, just because. And like others have said, the choice you made to portrayal him as a growing boy is superb. I always get the sense that Calvin will never truly grow up, and Hobbs will never die. A childhood spent with such a massive imagination and a most realistic imaginary friend should never disappear, ever. For that would be a tragedy, and those two aren't meant to be tragic. Their mischief will live forever.

I salute your choice to not show Calvin's face. He's not looking back (at his childhood), but it is with him (in his backpack).
My Mom walked by and said that she loved this pic. So there you go, two ratings of approval in one comment.

I love C&H they rule. This picture is amazing, I would so imagine him going off to work with hobbes, until he was really really old.
I love the picture it is soo inkeeping with the orginals, so good eye for the detail and the characters
Good work

Oh β¦ I love it I kind of makes me feel old now that I think about how long I have been reading Calvin and Hobbes. And thatβs so cool that you have the entire collection β¦ I only have like three of the books. Also, Iβm glad that you left Calvinβs face out β¦ it adds a sense of mystery to it but it also states never to forget the past since he still as Hobbes in his back pack. A very lovely piece.
