Description

A commission for who wanted the cast of Undertale reflected with the Elements of Harmony from MLP. I think they described the thoughts behind this piece better than I could;

Toriel represents the element of kindness (this could and should be obvious) because she wants to show mercy and love to everyone; even though she never forgave Asgore for what he did, she did say that he deserves mercy and that fighting him would have put the player in an impossible dilemma of fighting for freedom or staying to suffer. She especially wants to show mercy to the human children that fall to the underground because she never lost her motherly instincts even after she lost two children so suddenly.

As for Sans, I'm not exactly sure what he should represent to be honest, but the closest thing I could come up with is that he represents the element of magic. Because the element of magic is mysterious in and of itself, much like Sans. Also, here's another interpretation I have: the element of magic represents the element of togetherness, justice, virtue, and patience, which are qualities that Sans oddly has despite his blase laziness.

Papyrus obviously is the element of laughter because his greatest desire is to spread joy to others and befriend everyone, even if it means costing his dream to be a royal guard when he befriends Frisk in a neutral or True Pacifist route. Despite his brash and arrogant demeanor, he is unrelentingly optimistic against all odds and very cheerful overall. This isn't to say he's happy all the time (no one is), but that's just his general personality.

Undyne would be the element of honesty because of her staunch belief in doing the right thing, even (and especially) when it's difficult. She also never wavers from telling people the cold hard facts, even when it's told very bluntly. She's definitely rude about most of it, but at her core she truly believes in the dignity and truth of everything she does.

Alphys is pretty hard to pick because her character is more morally gray than most of the other characters, but the closest one I could come up with is the element of generosity. She doesn't hesitate to give you advice, any gadget you could want, and even on your "date" she was willing to have a pretend date to make you feel better. She is also willing to give up her reputation (in the True Pacifist route) to finally confess to her failed experiments when she realizes her friends have her back, and when she does she sends all the amalgamates home to their families.

Asgore is the element of loyalty because he wants to help his people and give them hope, no matter what it would cost him personally. Even though his plan was the result of all-consuming grief after the sudden and unexpected loss of his two children, he was willing to commit to it because he wants to give his subjects something to look forward to. He took responsibility for his subjects and never left the throne (which Toriel did out of anger at Asgore's plan), and he never gave up hope for his subjects even though it filled him with unimaginable guilt.

I had a lot of fun with this commission even though it had some ups and downs, and I'm really really happy how everyone turned out in this piece! I;m especially proud of how I'm getting better with different body shapes and not just drawing a default human body for characters!
