Say hello to my biggest pet peeve when it comes to MLP.I don't know WHY so many people get this wrong! It's NOT that hard guys >___< a Merpony has legs and a fin. a Seapony is a seahorse. WHY IS THAT SO HARD?!!!

The ponies depicted are just random. They're not meant to be any specific characters. I always forget the fins on seaponies' backs for some reason.

Heck if I know. I drew this before they ever showed up. I just got annoyed with people drawing merponies and calling them "seaponies".

It's always so confusing, but seaponies are technically the ones who look like seahorses (or rather ponies) as they were called that in G1.

This is nice. And if you think people got their seaponies and merponies mixed up......well, ever heard of G1s "Flutter Ponies"? I said that seaponies and Flutterponies have to make a triumphant return to the show, and someone said "well, there's already Fluttershy"....news flash, Fluttershy is a PEGASUS, not a FLUTTERPONY!

In my defense, I always thought Merpony was just a fandom name for a hippocampus. Never knew those things existed. Thanks for the info, although in truth I'll just stick to calling them hippocampus. It has a better ring to it then Merpony.

I agree, plus there's a RP MLP game out there that gets it wrong and then gets angry when you mention it.
