Confound this show.... after all the shit I talked about it at first, I will swallow my pride and admit, it has really drawn me in. I haven't finished season 2 yet, so no spoilers please if you don't mind.

First time drawing Dipper so I hope he looks ok. The problem with such simplified designs is the second you do a single thing wrong, it's immediately obvious. So it can be tricky to get a character with a simplistic design just right.

Background was surprisingly easier than I anticipated. And after I fretted so much about getting it to look right. I'm very happy with it

It's almost 4 in the morning but I couldn't sleep and after drawing almost next to nothing for what feels like WEEKS I wanted to do something and I had this image knocking around in my head for a while. So there ya go.

The image is large because I didn't have the heat to resize it more than this.

Should I up the contrast on Dipper? It felt wrong while I was working but now I'm not sure if it will be too much or not.

When I was about 7 there was a made-for-TV-movie from Australia about a pair of twins, a boy and a girl. When they were.. I can't remember... 11? 13? The girl got hit by a car and rushed to hospital. However, not only was she apparently fine, but she also had a blood type the hospital could not identify. So, with the help of the eccentric old lady from next door, the twins go about avoiding evil government types and whatnot.

What always stuck with me though was the ending. It turns out the girl twin was actually an alien, along with the neighbour lady who was to watch over her on Earth. However, and this really struck me... the boy twin was perfectly human. The girl, in reality, was not actually technically his sister at all. She was implanted into his mom to share a womb with a human boy to keep her safe. And the movie ends with the girl twin leaving earth with the neighbour guardian... leaving her twin brother all alone.
Surprisingly sad for a kids movie.

I have no idea what it was called. I wasn't that fluent in English yet and... again... I was like 7.

That story has next to nothing to do with the picture, but I remembered the movie while thinking the image up and planning it in my head. So I thought I'd mention it.
