Make sure that Nick doesn't vanish from the game
That happened to me. Had Nick as my companion, get his quest, then he just vanishes without a trace.

Not to be rude, but the Fallout 4 character is 'Sole Survivor'. 'Lone Wanderer' is Fallout 3... Or did your character get the Lone Wanderer perk?
