Continued from last night's page. It feels like Sapphire has truly seen through Charmy, here…

So as you could all imagine in the last comic, Charmy did not want to ‘lose’ again, so he mindlessly retaliated, hurting Sapphire for the first time. (And hopefully last?)

The first panel in this comic shows Charmy’s inner thoughts and assumptions upon what Sapphire would likely do to him.
But before he knew it….he was given the complete opposite reaction, as Sapphire had remembered that she had done something similar to him from before , and had already learned her lesson.
She knew, that deep down in Charmy, he would never want Sapphire to get hurt at all.

Not to mention that Charmy still can’t swim very well, which is why Sapphire had already saved him with her tail, the moment after he scratched her.

And in case some of you are wondering, Vaporeons have a special ability called Water Absorb, which lets her heal damage done to her when taking watery hits. That’s how she healed her triple scar.

Still, even though Sapphire had understood his actions and showed her unbroken love for him, Charmy had to let out his utter sadness at the fact that he had harmed his best friend and love of his life, almost causing a huge heartbreak.

Oh, and don’t worry, he’s only lightly nibbling the Vaporeon’s tail at the end. Hugging it alone is not going to be enough comfort after what happened.

...Whew, well how's that for a heart-aching story arch? If you expected it to go on longer, nope - It's supposed to be this short. Sorry!
Someone in Dunk, Dunk, Kiss wondered if Charmy would ever win the game, which is what prompted me to think of this scenario, some time ago. But here's the thing - It's not quite a game. All Charmy can really do is try to last longer above the water. And only Sapphire can win as she is just too fast for him. The point of it was so that he could learn more to swim and such, really.
