With a cutting loudness, the animal let out a sharp cry at the girl, who flinched back with a strangled breath of fear.
She knew Black Cats were always mentioned to be unlucky spirits, especially on what was supposed to be a lucky day like that day. She didn’t understand it, why was such an unlucky entity there? She hadn’t even made a wish on the clover or the coin. However, upon careful inspection of the two said objects, she found out the harrowing truth;
The gold coin… was a fake. It was just a small chocolate treat wrapped in the very familiar gold colored wrapping paper. And the clover was just as fake too, a mere cloth decoration. So… was she now cursed? But she didn’t make a wish—!!

The cat hissed again, louder and more aggressive this time, and it was then she realized— or, more so was reminded— that her sister was still no where to be seen. It was just her, the angry spirit, and the unnerving stone statue, its eyes, though hidden under its curly sculpted hair, was no doubt shedding judgment upon the girl and her thoughtless actions.

But she didn’t make a wish… she didn’t…
