Is that your hand in the picture? You have such tiny hands! The gripping of just one of his fingers is really sweet and touching. Very nicely done!

What I love about this is the fact the hands are probably in the exact position as when you are both in church holding hands at the alter saying your vows... and in this scenerio; it's in a hospital.
Not a lot of thought was put into the font I will admit, was more concerned with the wording... the opacity toned down is an excellent idea. I did try it in white and it didn't really stand out; so yes, just a touch of black and white in the font.

this picture is stunning.
i love the contrasts between the black hand, and the white. excellent.
the lighting is a bit wierd, but that isn't a bad thing.
I would have chosen another font, and maybe not such a black one.. maybe change it's opacity abit.. it's too extruding (is that the word?)
