I read about the idea of VoldyRichard, and I completely rejected it. Historical Richard is of course completely different, and as for Shakespeare's RIII, he's a great villain, who counts on an intriguing mixture of flattering charm, quick cleverness, bravery on the battle field, sheer evil and a conscience which torments him in his dream. Voldemort has none of these characteristics, he's a stupid paranoid with wrong allies and clumsy methods (hiding Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem in the Room of Requirement? Are you kidding? Harry, Draco and generations of Hogwarts students entered there!). So I don't believe that Voldemort is based upon Shaky's RIII.
