cool. I don't know much about photography so I might be completely out of place saying this, but is there a way to make the model and the skull sharper?

unfortunately not - it involved a time exposure with the shutter staying open while the model moved the skull - this was the only exposure out of 20 or more tries that gave the desired effect

a long exposure with the model moving the skull from top to bottom holding it in place longer at both

As I recall they were frustrating because I had to go throught the development process before I knew what times worked, or didn't. Now with my conversion to digital.... hummmm?
