Description
Probably the most time consuming and sophisticated piece I've ever done, totaling a whopping 6 hours of approximate work time.With the exception of ship and station models, everything else is completely original - from the star field to the HUD. This was inspired by the 2003 Microsoft game 'Freelancer'.

Seriously though, did you post this in Disco forums? I'm really thinking of trying to tackle making and HUD similar to this [obviously no ID for the moment though]. Well that is after cannon stops messing with the dsace.dll and/or releases 4.86.

To save you the running joke of 4.86, let's just say don't wait for it.
I did make a post of this in Media, but nobody looks in there much but if I want more attention I'll do a /f/lood post. Only if I have enough reason to do so.
I think a HUD mod based on this sounds good in theory, but if you want the warped and perspective effects you might have to do much more especially in for the text which is streamlined along with the HUD. Also the 3D map module will have to be done from scratch, which might involve editing the source code and you know we don't have that. I can provide more concepts and graphics, but the actually coding will have to go to someone else.
One more thing, I'm all for improving the graphics of FL. However if you want to do that with Disco then be prepared to face the community's "old computer" excuses. So if you're serious about this I suggest a standalone add-on or plugin.

Yeah, I know most of it would be impossible to do with our current knowledge of freelancer [I didn't actually planned on doing the map, since I'm clueless about that]. I'll see what I can think about [while my college classes give me a few new ideas too]. Let's see what i can make up, and I'll get in touch.
Oh and about 4.86, I'm not waiting for it actually. When it finally releases it will come as a pleasant surprises [Corvo here we gooooooooo!].
