I saw that look in his eyes. Before I knew it, I was shouting at him.
"I can't believe you! After all that's happened, you think that saying that will-" I bit down on my tongue. This was the last thing that he needed; his friend, his best friend getting on his case on something unintentional. I lowered my tone, "You mean, you actually remember me now? Please tell me that you're not lying."
"El, why would I lie to you?" He answered. I could finally see him again, the person I remember him as. And that innocent smile of his.
"I… I missed you…" I said. I was aware of the growing lump in my throat, but I did my best to ignore it.
I felt like I did so many years back. I was supposed to be this 'woman of steel', but there's no way that I can. I mean, during this adventure, I tried to suppress any emotion I had, but now… I felt like I was going to burst. Happiness, sadness, everything that you can think of. I didn't know what exactly to think. I wrapped my arms around him, thanking high heaven and hell that I could see him as he was again.
"Just… Please tell me that I'm not asleep… Or dead…" I said as my shoulders started to shake and tears come down my face as I buried my face in his shoulder. His arms wrapped around me.
"El, no matter what happens, I'm here for you." He whispered in my ear. My eyes shot open. He really did remember. Those were the same words that he said… So many years back…
"You… It really is you…" I said as I let go of him and stroked his face, moving his bangs out of his eyes.
"Who else?" He said jokingly. I laughed.
"Jeez, you had me worried." I sighed. I paused for a minute, looking into his eyes. "I love you."

Thank god everything's been set straight.
