I read up on a few old shows I used to watch ALL the time. One was Kim Possible. Another was Code Lyoko. I made a realization when I read up more on them. They both ended in 2007. A lot of the good cartoons that I used to watch ended in the 2005-2008 range. >w> All of them were done before 2010. There were a few stragglers that were still around when I was in 6th grade, but not many.

Anyway, this is Aelita, one of the main characters for Code Lyoko. She helps the Lyoko Warriors (a group of kids from the local boarding school) fight X.A.N.A., an evil computer program that pretty much wants to destroy the world. At first, she's not much help, other than being the only one of the kids to be able to deactivate the power sources on Lyoko that X.A.N.A. uses. Eventually, though, she becomes fairly competent at fighting the monsters X.A.N.A. summons to Lyoko. Lyoko is a digital world within a super computer, and the interface is sort of like a video game. The characters enter 'Scanners' and are sent to Lyoko. Aelita was trapped on Lyoko for a while, but because she's not A.I. like X.A.N.A., she can come back into the real world.

This is Aelita deactivating a tower that X.A.N.A. was using. Towers are X.A.N.A.'s power sources for causing havoc in the real world.

I loved this show when I was younger, and I miss it so much. I'm currently tracking down the shows so I can watch them again. >w> I heard that there's going to be a sequel series coming out in the fall, but it's going to be in french. Fitting, because Code Lyoko was a french cartoon. I'll find a version of it with subtitles, when it comes out. >w>

This took a while. I'd wanted to draw Aelita for a few days now, but I didn't go through with it until now. I'm quite proud of this. I might draw more of the Code Lyoko cast a bit later. Just before I was going to submit this, I noticed I hadn't added some of the effects that I wanted to add, like the light gradient, and the motion of the screens in the background (I motion blur very much). I think that despite the fact I drew this in Anime style rather than the original stye, I got a lot of the details right. ^^ This is her Lyoko outfit for seasons one through three.
