I just kind of wanted to draw Max from the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Not the picture I'd intended on drawing, but still pretty cool regardless.

I wasn't going for any particular scene. I was going to draw Max as she appeared in the manga adaption, and there were a couple of times where I was like "okay, screw this, I'm going to start over" but I stuck with this anyway. So, I guess it's a fusion of the book and the manga, with a little bit of me thrown in. So, this may not look like Max at all, but it's kind of how she looks in my head.

I used two shading layers, one darker than the other. I like the way it came out. And her hair~ Oh, her hair. I love it~ The two shading layers weren't as tricky as I thought they'd be. And I really love the grass. It just looks RIGHT. I have about three layers just dedicated to the grass. I think that it's worth it.

I've been craving Max lately. I think I'm going to re-read the first book, and maybe the second.
