Description
I had this around for a while, all painted and ready for hair, and I finally finished her! Bon-Bon will be coming soon (because having one without the other is just wrong).Lyra's painted with acrylics and her mane and tail are made of sculpey 3.
She will be available at cons and for commission, $30.

Great custom! Just out of curiosity, what kind of clay did you use for the hair?

Sculpey 3 for the light blue, premo for the white.

I pull all the hair out of bait pony (very weird process) so I have a bald pony. I paint them, sculpt the hair, bake it for a little while so the hair sets, and voila!

Do you use an x-acto knife, or just some tweezers?

To get the hair off I cut it as close as I can with a scissor, then I use a cuticle cutter tool or pull off the remaining hair or, if its being really stubborn, I cut it as close to the scalp as I can. You can loosen the glue by soaking the ponies in very hot water for a few minutes if you really want it all out.

Thanks! I have a Twilight that I'm (for lack of a better word) shaving, and her hair is being pretty stubborn.

Definitely try the hot water trick. My friend does re-hairs, so she needs ALL the hair out and that always does the trick for her. Boil water, let it cool off a little, then drop the ponies in. Use tongs to pull them out in 2-5 minutes, let it cool a bit, and the hair should pull right out.

Okay, good to know! I was wondering how hot the water should be. Thanks!

Ooh! So I could just buy another Rainbow Dash figure and pull her hair out and sculpt hair? Thanks that helped a lot!
