White paint is the worst for coverage, but there are tricks. To deal with fingerprints, I give the clay a coat of sculpey clay softener with a soft brush before baking. Than after its cooled, I give it a light sanding to even out any rough patches. Before painting with a high quality white acrylic (I use Liquitex brand) I give it 2-3 coats of white gesso. With light colors, it also helps to give it 1-2 hours of drying time between coats, which is why I work on a bunch of ponies at once.

wow o-o your so professional, i think i might just invest into some of that softener, i use some cheap shiny acrylic stuff from patkatans n it not too bad, is it bad that I blowdry my ponies so they dry faster :\ ? its worked for me so far until i get to like 5 layers

Blowdrying will only get you a surface dryness, not a complete dryness. That will work well for darker colors, but you really need to let it dry on its own completely for any lighter colors (white, yellow, Applejack orange, and red come to mind). I usually rock 2 coats before setting the piece aside to dry. I also water down the paints before using them. Multiple thin coats is the way to go for the best quality, even though it isn't the best for time management.

Yeah, its deceivingly difficult. Everything is made as separate pieces and assembled at the end, so those headphones are the devil. Also, white ponies take forever to paint because they need like 7 coats of paint to cover.
