Description
Haven't posted anything in a loooong time (6 months?) ... so here's a worm! Mmmmmmmmonsters <3 !!!There are a few things I'd like to fix on this image, but my computer almost coughed up something equivalent to a computer's version of a hairball when I saved the last time. The past few days it wouldn't even let me draw in Photoshop... Yes yes, I need to clean up my HD.
Busy with school and future plans at the moment. Artistically, I'm more into writing these days, but I can't keep from doodling every once in a while. But I'm alive and so.

Love this style, you are clearly very talented. May i ask what technique you use to colour in paintshop

I colour in Photoshop. I add a base colour, then shade with clipping masks. As a finishing touch, I added some rust-coloured texture.
I'm glad you like it :]

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I'll try and post more... though not just for the sake of posting. No one likes that.

ack!! SHE LIVES!!!!!
lol so how backed up were your messages?
Good submission to come back with! Gotta love the contrast with the little guy who has the HUGE pet...or is that a pet log? Either way, he ended up with a giant, ferocious worm.

YARR!
Ehm, let me see... 5450 deviations, 1227 messages and a handful of notes. I smell the need for purge...
Haha! I'm glad you like it. It feels good going back to my artistic roots... drawing monsters. :]
How are you?! D:

Yipes! yeah just send out an apology journal or something, unless you really want to sift through all of those messages. BUT
there is one deviation of mine I'd like you to look at, since it's up your alley anyway [link]
I'm doing good! Gotten a lot more into writing too, starting with fanfiction and moving to original stories. Fanfic is a good exercise, especially for learning how to get word count up, describe action sequences and steamy scenes Plus I've made some new friends! What are you working on in terms of writing?
Other than that, the usual...work, deadlines, conferences, etc... So good to hear from you! I've missed you!

I want to see all the deviations, but realistically? Not happening, hehe. x) Journal it is then! When I get a sub running again... *ahem* Can't have un-CSS'ed journals!
I started a project with my friend, although he kinda stopped and now it's just me writing, but anyway. It's about my "alter-ego" so to speak. Cado. A fantasy-fiction-story of sorts. I wrote the first one during and around October 2008 and it ended up at 72 pages. Far more than I had expected and since it's the first time I've written anything that long and ever, really, it was great to have it received so well by the readers. Now I've started the second story (already at 37 pages) and I can't really live without it anymore. Every character is like a part of me - my little baby. x) When I don't write about them, I feel bad.
Good to hear you're writing as well. Have you posted the original pieces on DA? I probably wouldn't be able to relate to the fanfics, unless it's something I know, but I'd really like to read some of yours. Get some inspiration maybe.
Oh and steamy scenes? Haha, I suck at writing those.
Missed you too! Every time I think of DA, I think of you, really. I know that sounds corny, but yeah.
Took a look at your squid and posted a comment (wall of text!).

lol well you *could* fudge some of the text around and use emoticons to make a pseudo customized journal without going with a subscription. But whatever floats your boat! I've been spoiled with having a subscription
Stamps are awesome!
Oooh cool, fantasy fiction is right up my alley. Are you posting it anywhere? I refrain from uploading original work up here in dA because there are so many thieves running around... Two of the three I have rattling around in my head will definitely be sent to publishers. I started one with the National Novel Writing Month challenge, and now I'm going back and completely redoing it. That one is my baby more than the others so far...completely Fantasy/Action/Adventure/Romance hehehe.
The fanfics I write are for Bleach. If you haven't read them, you'd get a little lost, but I try to do some explaining during it, especially for the Japanese terms. It's mostly character development and my favorite of the 2 long ones written so far has a lot to do with an original character.
I really like writing steamy scenes, even if I do blush a little during the process My mom's a published author in the category "Fantasy Romance with Erotic Elements" so I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
hehehe aww you missed me too !

True. But... I want my monster header! If it has to be done, it has to be done right!
I'm not posting it for the exact same reason. These stories are my babies. They mean so much to me. If someone were to claim it as their own... I'd die. So no, they're not up anywhere, just tucked into a folder on my computer (and back-up'ed on another harddisk ofc).
That's pretty awesome, sending it to publishers. I thought about the same, but I'd have to detach myself from the stories first. I don't I'm ready to take public critique on them just yet...
Do you have an original story you'd share?

F1yMordecai In reply to Cado [2009-04-20 18:26:10 +0000 UTC]
well I guess it helps that I'm open to critiques anyway and I'm getting good feedback from fellow writers, even if what I'm posting online is just fanfic...hehehe. Original stuff is still in the works, so not comfortable sending that out just yet, but I'll keep you in mind

Fair enough. I had a hard time "publishing" my original work as well, so it only ended up in the hands of a few very close friends.

Your work is always strange, weird, and very creepy sometimes.
But that's exactly why I love it so =3
And when I saw you posted something, I shouted in my mind "YES CADO IS BACK! HOORAY!" So yeah.
Anywho, you did a really nice job on this. I'd critique it, but I don't see anything wrong with it. *is untrained* X_X

Heh. Giving critique is always hard, and it takes a lot of time. ^^

The fact that its unique makes it that much more awesome.
Indeed it does. Especially when you can't find anything wrong with the artwork, or you feel like a noob, and you'll say something dumb
Like this one girl said that her professional friend artist said her profile on her drawing was good. I said, "Yeah, your profile is really good! I just think the lips and chin seem kinda odd." She looked at me and said, "Umm Zack, THAT IS the profile."
Whoops
