I love how well you can see the spots on the frog, it is a nice contrast from the background, yet it still ties into the photo nicely.

Where do you get all these frogs and how do you get them to sit still? XD
I like it!

cadydid In reply to Choiseul [2009-12-06 20:09:33 +0000 UTC]

Haha, they never sit still! I have to chase them continuously snapping photos until they escape. Oh, and I find them along river and creek banks.

Thank you!

Maybe they simply have more frogs where you live than in Sweden XD But it's still impressive!

We have some, in the summer but they're about as large as a large fingernail xD
We have a few toads, but if you see them, it's probvably because they got ran over by a car xP (And then they look like frogshaped leaves)

...That was a nasty image, Nicci. Frogshaped leaves...Yuck.

We have some pretty big frogs and toads here hopping around in the woods (some bigger than your hand), but they stay in the woods and out of the city.

Haha, I dunno, I remember almost getting an heartattack when I realized it was actually a frog, it was freaky as hell XD

That's pretty cool, I do like frogs and toads, even though my roommate is always complaining over how they're not designed to survive.

cadydid In reply to Choiseul [2009-12-08 00:11:42 +0000 UTC]

That sounds like an odd complaint. I mean, that doesn't like it would be an everyday topic to complain about.

Gosh, roommates, though...I'll have one of those next year in college.

Haha, he wants to be a biologist, he studies math at university from januari, and biology from next fall... So everytime frogs show up it's like "They drown under water AND suffocate above it D:"... But I really like Koalas, and they seriously shouldn't have survived either, so he sorta complains about that too. We're an odd combination, but we see eye to eye on most philosophical issues and we're both massive nerds, so it works out

Are you scared? I'd be scared.

cadydid In reply to Choiseul [2009-12-09 02:32:28 +0000 UTC]

Pffft, he's just prejudice against frogs. And koalas.
(Though, he has a point. )

You have a male roommate, though? That's extremely rare in the USA. Colleges have co-ed dorms, but the floors are separated by gender. Well, unless you secretly trade roommates.

Nah, I'm not scared. Not at all. Rather, I'm terrified. I'm applying for the Honors dorm, and with my 4.14GPA, I'm pretty positive I'll get in, but I hoping against hope I don't end up with a freaky roommate. If the singles rooms didn't rob students of money, I would definitely get one.

Choiseul In reply to cadydid [2009-12-09 03:33:09 +0000 UTC]

Well, he's sort of a best friend since several years back that got thrown out by his parents a few years ago as well, so since we have lived together. And well, as far as I've gotten it you can dorm with pretty much who you want, otherwise I have no idea.

You see, I'm a lot behind on my school work because of several reasons, I used to be really sick, even though they never figured out what was wrong, on and off I get insomnia because of my chronic depression (my life is fine, it's the genes that screw me over) and I also go all social phobia several times a year, totally freaking out if I get close to people I don't know, and this has sort of screwed over school for me a lot. In general I'm better than a few years ago, but it still gets hard to juggle an active life outside of my apartment sometimes.

I don't know how much is ordinary for a GPA either XD If you had taken the test in Sweden I would have known, but I suppose "1.4" doesn't tell you much either

I would actually like to get a freaky roommate, the nonfreaky ones always freak me out xD

cadydid In reply to Choiseul [2009-12-10 01:52:45 +0000 UTC]

I feel really small. The most I've had to deal with is a druggie for a dad and a verbally-abusive stepdad. You've certainly had to pull through a lot, so I can understand how you would be behind in schoolwork or anything else. The social phobia seems like it would make things difficult because schools are filled with students (obviously ). You're such a strong person, and so is your friend.

1.4? Nope, I have no clue what that means. I could probably look on Google, but I'm full of cake at the moment.

If I do end up with a roommate I can't possibly get along with (which may be impossible...I'm pretty adaptive and accepting...usually), I can always room with my friend the next year. She's a year younger than me.

Choiseul In reply to cadydid [2009-12-10 07:22:15 +0000 UTC]

Hey, that's not easy either And it's fine, really. Although, with my dad actually being crazy, and coming from two drug addict families, I can at least relate. My stepdad since about six years back (I was a bit too old for him really to be my dad rather than just my moms new guy, but still) is pretty sweet though, so I shouldn't complain.

I'd also like to claim that a strong person wouldn't have the phobia in the first place ;D (And yes, damn students, damn them I say)

Haha, well, I'm probably not gonna use it anyway, I'd like to know what the hell yours meant though XD

That's good at least, I mostly just want to punch most people, or run away screaming in terror xD And I suppose it's just a year, and can't you apply for change if it really doesn't work out? The friend seems great too Not that I know her or anything, but living with her and all XD

I have trouble even talking face-to-face to guys because of my dad and stepdad. It shouldn't be that way, but since I've never had a good father-figure, I always feel awkward around guys. Both guys have extreme tempers, so I guess I just don't want myself around that, even if I know a lot of guys aren't like that. Oh well.

Hey, a person can't help having a phobia.

Haha. Well, let's see if I can explain this. In America, GPA (grade point average) totals your grades and averages them out on a scale from 0-4. 0 is basically failing, and 4 is 100%. Classes grade using this system, so you can get any number from 0-4 in a class. Since I take a couple AP )advanced placement) classes, which are on a scale from 0-5, it bumps my grade point above a 4 if I make a good grade in that class. So, 4.14 is equal to above 100% in all my classes. *is a nerd*

That was probably confusing.

Yeah, I can apply for a new roommate if it doesn't work out, but I'd rather not go through that trouble. I'm pretty lazy.

That sucks, it really does. It's horrible how much our parents can screw us over, thankfully I don't really connect my father to the entire male gender, probably because I also have a brother, and very nice (if, you know, criminal junkie) uncles. I'm pretty close to my brother, after all. I wish I could help actually, but you're a bit far away.

Can admit that girls sort of freak me out though, but that's mostly because girls are so darn complicated, and they always backstab you too. But the first part might because I'm you know... Into girls. Which also explains why guys touching me icks me out XD Nothing stranger than that xD I mostly have male friends otherwise, because what can I say, I'm a tomboy, and it's hard to find girls that share my interests for some reason. Which is why I sort of wish you lived a bit closer, many of my friends are so darn harmless I wonder if it wouldn't be a positive thing for you to meet them XD (My roomie is a 22 year old guy virgin. Why? Because he wants to be in love. That's pretty damn rare xP)

You can help anything, it's just more or less hard XD

No, it made sense, and that's good... You probably study a lot harder than I do XD But then I got the impression you sort of have to over there.

Lazy is good.

I'm really close to my mom, and I can tell her anything, so at least one of my parents didn't screw me over. I actually believe my stepfather caused a lot more problems for me than my father did, but I'm leaving in less than a year, so I can escape from him in the near future.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm an extremely private person (despite the fact that I'm telling you all this ), so I haven't developed any strong connections with people, even though I've known my friends for around 7 years now (my family moved continuously before then). I would much rather go walking alone on a nature trail rather than sit at a movie theater with a group of friends. My friends seem to enjoy talking badly about each other, though, so I guess it's not too bad of a thing. They never seem to grasp the fact that I dislike talking negatively about others as they nearly always come to me to gossip.

Haha, maybe if I ever travel to Sweden, I'll drop by. Or, if you ever come to America, you'll have to bring all your friends.
