You sat on your couch reading your book. You were waiting for your husband like always. However it had been the nth time he went home late. You knew he was a busy man and you waited for him.

When you finished reading, he hadn't come home yet. Today he was really late. You started to worry, but thinking of him, he might force himself to finish the job for the day. You stood and yourlegs brought you to the kitchen. You stopped, thinking of what you should get him when he arrived. You looked around and sighed. 'Tea is the best.' You started to boiled some water and prepared the tea.

Some minutes passed and you suddenly heard the door clicked. You popped your head from the kitchen to see your beloved husband, Arthur Kirkland. he took off his coat and his boots then his suitcase. His face looked worn out. He was exhausted, you knew that. He didn't look anywhere but down and walked to the couch then sat. You sighed and approached him, "Welcome home."

He lifted his head to see you and formed a small smile, "I'm home, love..."

You looked at his smile and it hurt you. Whatever his condition was, he always gave you his smile... so you wouldn't worry about him. Automatically you smiled too and said, "How about a cup of tea?"

"I'd love to."

You returned to the kitchen and prepared the tea, one for him and one for you. You were back with two cups of tea in each hand. You gave him his and you sat beside him, "So how's work today?"

"... Like always, love. Just an additional that trio wankers hinder me in doing my job.'

He sipped his tea and told you more of it for a while. You sipped your tea while listening to his story. You always asked him that, in case he kept his depression in his mind alone. When he finished telling you, you had both finished your tea. You took the cups to the kitchen and washed them. By the time you were done, you saw him standing by the kitchen door and stared at you with tired eyes, though he still smiled.

You couldn't stand it anymore. His effort to make you less worry, made you worry more instead. Even in his hard times he always smile for you. You couldn't stand seeing him like this.

You dried your hands and approached him then hugged him. "Arthur, you need rest," you said. He seemed to be startled but you continued, "Your boss had put you to work too much. Everybody needs rest... Please don't push yourself..."

"Love..."

"I insist, Arthur..."

He put his one hand on your back and the other patted your hair softly, "It's not like you to say that... What happen, (name)?"

You turned your gaze to his face, "I... I don't want you to force your smile like that. It hurts me."

He sighed, "I'm not forcing it, love. This is my true smile. I can't help but smile when I see your face. However my boss pushes me down, you always raise me up. So... it's okay... I'm fine..."

You looked at him with sad eyes. Even if that's true, he needed rest, no matter what. "You still have to tell your boss that you need a day off, or I'll do it for you."

"Easy love, no need to worry. But still.. thanks for caring me, (name), I love you," he said and kissed your forehead.

"No problems, honey, that's what I should do anyway. I love you too."
