Fuchsia - Spain

The sky was clear blue, your favorite. You were outside, in a tomato field your boyfriend had. You were wearing a sleeveless plain orange dress down to your knees and a hat. You had collected a basket full of tomatoes and now you were to go back to his house.

You put the basket on the floor and wiped your sweat off your forehead with your arm. The sun was bright and it was hot. You then sat on a chair and enjoyed the mild breeze. Oh you really like situation like this. You loved to enjoy the nature, to be one with them. And you felt really lucky and happy that you got a boyfriend like him, who understood your enjoyment.

“Chica~ I’m home~”

And that was your boyfriend. He just came home from his trip to deliver some baskets of tomatoes to the town. “Chica, where are you?” His voice was getting closer and closer.

He finally got to the back door, which led to his fields, and found you were sitting.

“Ah, you’re here!” He smiled and approached you.

“Welcome home, Toni,” you stood and gave him a short kiss.

He smiled and asked, “So, how about our children, mi amor?”

Your face heated up and you were certain that it was as red as his tomatoes, “C-c-c- children?!”

“The tomatoes~” He said.

“O-oh… the tomatoes, right… They’re right there,” you pointed the basket full of tomatoes.

He turned his face to see them and looked back at you, “Okay. Gracias for the help, (name).”

“No problem. I love doing these kinds of things. You know it right?”

Before you could ask him what that meant, he told you he got something for you and went inside the house. You waited there, standing. When he came back, he had some flowers in his hands and they were so beautiful.

He took your hands and gave them to you then he said, “I found them on my way back. I thought you’d love them.”

You stared at the flowers, adoring the beauty. “Toni, I love them. Thank you…” you brought the flowers to your chest as you smelled the scent.

Antonio stared at you, liking your reaction. He had had relationships with several girls but they all were so glued to modern life. That’s why he broke up with them and always looking for a girl who fulfilled his criteria. After two years searching, he found you; and your love towards nature made him fell for you. You’re perfect in his eyes.

“Do you know what flower it is?” he asked.

You shook your head. “No, but I’ve seen several times.”

“The name’s Fuschsia. You know, I didn’t randomly pick flowers for you,” he told you. He wore his signature smile and he looked at you while waiting your respond.

“So… why did you pick this one?”

You asked him the question he really wanted you to ask. He knelt on one knee and held your hands in his. “(name), you know I’m just an average living man, right?”

“You know this world is crueler that it looks, right?”

Hearing his words, you somehow felt guilty and hurt. This man, your boyfriend, Antonio Fernandez Carriedo, worried about those things. You had heard his love lives before he’s with you from Lovino and you thought that now, he was afraid of losing his loved one.

“Oh, Toni…” you started, “I don’t even think about any luxurious life. You know, I love you because you appreciate my love for nature. That’s why I really love you from my heart.”

His eyes softened and he smiled, “Then along with these flowers,” he reached to his pocket and took out a beautiful small box and opened it, “I’d like to ask you the most important question of my life. (full name) will you marry me?”

Oh my God, you felt like you couldn’t stop smiling and you wanted to smile even wider and wider. Your body shook a bit and you felt tears falling down your cheeks. All because you didn’t know how to express your happiness right now.

You enveloped him in your hug for a while and when your happiness became normal again, you asked, “So, Toni, why did you choose these flowers?”
