Seems to have worked out very well. Colors and clarity are good, as are skin tone and texture. The woman's appearance is very attractive. Certainly not an image to dismiss.

She's got it situated behind her so you can't see it. There's a subtle shadow just to her right that suggests it though.

Sometimes when I'm doing these I get into a hyperrealism mode where I want to simulate perfect realism, which is quite a challenge when using vectors and all too often fails, usually when you get into the face and hair. I'm trying to not be as concerned with that anymore though.

its the edges that give it away, especially around the shadows. otherwise, very realistic. the thumbnail looks like a photo, the depth of the shadowing and textures are really quite good.

Thanks for the feedback. I could probably get down deep into the meshes to correct all those little giveaways, but I don't find I need to take it that far. Some people spend months on these things to achieve perfect realism, but If I spend more than a day and a half of time on any one thing it starts to feel like a waste of time.

I could see that. Really quite good, though. Just like any other piece of art, an artist can spend forever and a day on their piece, when the original was damned good to begin with. Part of my problem is my crap starts as crap, and is never good enough for me.

Sounds like you need to be a little easier on yourself. Take it from someone who knows a little something about that. We might not be the next Picasso or Rembrandt, but we don't need to be to enjoy what we do. If you find reward in the process, the rest doesn't matter.
