It looks so freaking real.
You gotta show the preview (command+y) of this work.
It must be consists of hundreds and hundreds of meshes, huh?

Actually, there are 16 meshes:
The face
The nose
The lips
The chest
The shoulder
The upper arm
The lower arm
The top of the hand
The fingers
The torso
The two legs
The rest are regular paths.
My meshes are surprisingly messy, but they work, so I guess it's okay.

Do you ever use "live paint" in Illustrator?

Not often. Sometimes for smaller, less important things like background elements and whatnot. Never for the main parts of the image, though.

You had it right the first time.
Thanks

Could you tell me how do you get a smooth mesh? How can I avoid the ripples. [link]

What ripples are you speaking of?

Looks like a jpeg artifact. Is it in the vector image as well?

Did you apply any raster effects like a glow or a feather? If so, check your raster settings in Illustrator. Make sure they're set at 300.

No, I did not. It is Gradieent Mesh. You are a master in this matter, so I turned to you.

Try importing the vector file into Photoshop and then applying a very small noise effect to the file in Photoshop. Play with the settings there, but I tend to use a strength of .5% with the Gaussian and Monochromatic boxes checked. That can sort out mesh artifacts.

Once again your work took my breath away
The skin tone is absolutely spot on, it is the exact colour required to give the genuine real-to-life effect in mid-light and you haven't lost it with lower and higher light powers. As a result, it has near perfect DOF with just as good shape and form. I am loving your work with the eyes, they are just amazing, its quite astonishing there real-to-life compatibility. Now I will mention a few things that could do with some improvements, but you must remember two things, firstly, this is constructive criticism, meant to help, not hinder or put down. Secondly, you are one of the most amazing artists that graces the pixels of DA, so when I suggest something, it means that with the addition of said suggestions, it will be perfect, like literal perfect, not none of that face bullshit that just makes people happy. Ok, so I will start from the top and work downwards . Ok, so first thing is the lips, the left part(looking at the 'model') of the upper lip, it needs just the tiniest touch more definition, I would suggest a tiny bit more rich colour receding out from the middle of the lip. similar as to how you have done the shading on the lower lip. Now the lower lip needs a touch more molding to get the correct perspective, by my eye measurement a moving the left side of the lower lip downwards should fix this(with some touches that I simply don't have the knowledge/skill to suggest). On the right breast(from the viewers perspective once again) near the edge of the bikini where the bigger part attaches to the lace thing(that ties at the back) there is a shading think that looks incomplete, it kinda looks like a stray stripe, I believe if you worked your magic on it it would remove the harshness and make the breast area go BAM!...even more lol. Next on the list is the piece of lace/string thing on the very left edge of the lower bikini piece. It simply doesn't hold enough definition unlike the rest of the piece. It just looks a bit awkward, possibly thinning it and maybe modifying the stripes slightly to get a different shape, slightly flatter possibly. Now, the upper line of the lower bikini, it looks as if it has no hem, my suggestion would be to apply a similar hem thing to it as has been done to the upper bikini. Now, the rear end
. basically I think it needs a touch of smoothing, just a few less ripples of the fabric I thing would do the trick, I would also suggest to apply the same to the upper front of the lower bikini. Also, I would suggest a similar hem to the top of the buttox part, it is fine at the lower part but loses depth and definition as it goes upwards. Last of all, is the hand, it is slightly too 'cartoony', you have managed perfect shape and form(many pro artists fail at that with hands) but the colouring is too light and smooth, not enough definition. the thumb is fine, same goes for the knuckles and wrist, it is predominantly the other 4 fingers. Now once again, I would just like to re-iterate, this is a critique, not a put down. A major thing when taking my suggestions into consideration is that with them, this piece would be....PERFECT. Anyways, I am now going to get some sleep and get better
. Cheers

Most...and I mean 99% of people aren't noticing those really microscopic details. For that matter I could take a painting by Leonardo da Vinci and comment on all types of small details.
No...this image is beautiful and doesn't require that kind of of critique.

Your opinion is duly noted, however, I must disagree. When an artist reaches such a level, all they recieve is 'OMG, thats full sick mate' or 'wow, awesome' now I am not saying that these comments are not appreciated by the artist but they are empty and have no depth. When I write a critique - regardless of whether it is placed within a comment or actual critique - I write it for the artist, not for my own gain, nor to be a troll and put down others hard work. Now to say any piece is perfect is simply bullshit(pardon the language), no piece can ever be perfect, nor truly perfect. In the comment I do say perfect a rather lot, what I am referring to is as close as possible to truly perfect. Now, with every single critique there I have written something, either a suggestion or a description of the problem. I noted my lack of skill in the actual doing of graphic creation and noted the artists capabilities to easily fix such 'problems'. Now, as I also noted, these are not truly 'problems', these details take careful eyes to catch, things that very few will do, they are all insignificant in the grand scheme of things. As you also noted 99% of people will never notice such details, but I feel that we owe the artist that much. When I say that with this tiny few details complete, it would make this piece perfect(my definition as explained above) and I meant that. To say that I wasn't meaning well with this, I just don't really know what to say. I understand that not everyone enjoys such things, that is absolutely fine with me. But to simply say 'it's beautiful and move on...it's just not what this piece deserves, its because it is so amazing that I wrote it. Anyways, I am not mad or anything, I don't want you to get the wrong message. I just simply wanted to convey my opinion on the matter to you, I hope you understand . Cheers
ps sorry for the extremely long reply
pps I don't mind if you don't understand either, just wanted to get it out there

The thing is...I went and hunted down the original photo this was done from...and the things you pointed out are extremely microscopic...to the point that they are debatable.

Heh heh, I'm flattered that someone is actually taking the time to observe something I've made that closely. These are good observations, but I don't know if I'll get around to making all those adjustments. Usually by the time my stuff shows up here I have already moved on to something else. But I thank you for being that devoted to the making of my work.

Thats quite alright
I don't mind, when I see a piece as amazing as this, by such a dedicated artist, well I feel it is only right that the creator get something back, an in depth look at the piece is the least I can do
The length of all my comments depends on a number of factors, such as quality, creativity but mostly, dedication. That is why you recieved such a long comment . Sorry about that btw
