Amazing shot! My father is a firefighter, so I definitely understand the power in it.

I really like this photo because it allows me a glimpse into a world and a life that I don't normally think about, and that I don't really get to see or partake in. Sure, I see things on the news that say, "There was a fire downtown today" or something, but.... they never seem real, and I never give them a second thought. This photo opens up a whole new perspective.

We don't see enough good photojournalism on dA, so it was nice to see this one pop up on the Daily Deviations. Nicely job of getting the firefighter and equipment to stand out against the dense dark background of smoke. Well done!
