Description
It might have been done before, but I came up with an AU, or potential "game" in the Zelda series where Link was born as a Gerudo! One of the once-every-100-years gerudo men, at that! In my fan-made Zelda world, Gerudo men are no longer seen as a blessing, and instead became a bad omen thanks to the various duds with Ganondorf across history. Link's mother abandoned him because she did not want to spawn the next Ganondorf. Link was given his name by an all-knowing sentient tree, and was told to not harbor hatred for his people.

Likewise, in this universe, Zelda is a Gerudo too, the leader of the Gerudo too. And Ganondorf... He was reincarnated as a Hylian. He was enabled and allowed to gain power because all the Hylians thought he was going to be the Hero of Courage, but he took over and was proven to be evil! And Link, an abandoned Gerudo child raised in the wilds, must gather his own soul-bound courage to rise up and save the people who wrongly cast him aside. It would be a story about how it is wrong to judge a book by its cover, and it would explore the constant Triforce reincarnation cycle across history. It does not matter what your flesh is or what culture you come from. It is what's inside that truly matters!
